One Step Back
The Toronto District School Board has decided to open an “Africentric” school next year and cities like Montreal and Halifax are now playing with the idea as well. For those who may not understand what an Africentric school is, it’s basically a black school. That’s right, this country is now looking to take a giant step back in the fight against racial segregation; the same fight that was fought and won decades ago. The school board in Toronto says that this was in response to a 40% drop out rate for that specific ethnic group.
I sure hope these damn school boards are doing their homework before they decide to separate people by the color of their skin. If they’re simply basing it on a single statistic like a drop out rate than they are making a fucking horrible mistake. What will this do to the next generation of youths? A decision such as the one made in Toronto tells everybody that it’s okay again to treat people differently according to their racial background.
12 Reasons to Hate the English Language
Although I am obviously targeting the English language, I’m sure a list similar to this can be produced for any given language.
- The bandage was wound around the wound.
- The farm was used to produce produce.
- We must polish the Polish furniture.
- The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.
- Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present.
- A bass was painted on the head of the bass drum.
- When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.
- They were too close to the door to close it.
- The wind was too strong to wind the sail.
- After a number of injections my jaw got number.
- Upon seeing the tear in the painting I shed a tear.
- I had to subject the subject to a series of tests.
Slap on the Wrist for Assualting a Senior
Using metal table leggings, 3 young girls aged 15 to 16 attacked a 66-year-old woman last summer in Halifax. They wore bandanas across their faces to conceal their identities and only stopped beating the senior when a passerby intervened and chased them away. They were later caught and just recently sentenced.
The victim suffered a broken rib, a punctured chest, severe bruising, and a lifetime of trauma. What did the girls get? One girl received 30 days, another girl 149 days, and the third girl 201 days in custody on top of the time they have already served. That’s fucking sick considering that they could have killed this lady in that completely random act of violence. It’s especially sick when you take into account the fact that they will only spend two-thirds of that piss poor sentence in custody.
That sentence shows a complete disregard to the safety of law-abiding citizens and applies encouragement to the tune that crime is tolerated in this country.
100 Badly Neglected Cats and Dogs
There’s a sickening story in Port Hastings, Nova Scotia about an animal rescue shelter that horribly neglected the animals in there care. Apparently, over 100 cats and dogs were found covered in their own urine and feces. Many of the cats are said to have ear mites as well as upper respiratory illnesses. A few of the animals were even placed on IVs in the pet hospitals. It was so bad that a live cat was actually found in the same cage as a dead cat. How fucking disgusting is that.
The shelter is called Celtic Pets Rescue and is owned and operated by Zonda MacIsaac, an apparently well known advocate for homeless animals. There is a small support thread going on found here; a support thread which will no doubt get smaller. The vice president of this so-called rescue shelter, Alice MacIsaac, is also an SPCA special agent. SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) agents are supposed to investigate reports of abuse and animal neglect. Pretty fucking ironic, huh?
You can read more about it here.
Tom Cruise on Scientology
Can Tom Cruise be any more fucked up? The following is a video of Tom Cruise talking about the ‘Religion’ of scientology…
Now try telling me that he is not insane. What the hell was with the whole accident example? Scientologists are the only ones that can do something about it? What the fuck?!?! He is too weird for me.
Jerry O’Connell made a funny parody video…
Internet Scam - Onix Advisors
Here’s a quick tip for everybody that happens to be new to the world of online scams. A website that looks as badly constructed as onixadvisorsgrp.com and claims to be able to give out minimum loans of $10,000 is a scam. If they had that kind of money, they could have put some of it into making a real website.
Seriously folks, if you need a loan, go to a damn bank. And if it’s too cold outside, wait til it warms up. Whatever you do. Do not take a loan from an unknown online company. Especially if you’re not internet-savvy enough to spot an amateur scam like this. I mean, it’s supposed to be a Canadian loan company, yet the majority of their ‘testimonials’ are from clients in the United States.
Unfortunately, some innocent people have fallen victim to this scam and so the Saskatoon police issued a fraud alert for this website a couple of days ago. So consider yourselves warned.
Guy Lafleur Aids Criminal
Hockey legend Guy Lafleur turned himself in yesterday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He is accused of giving a false testimony during his son’s bail hearing last November where he stated that his son was respecting a court-ordered curfew. However, Lafleur later admitted that he drove his 23-year-old son to hotels to spend the night with his 16-year-old girlfriend.
His son, Mark Lafleur, faces more than 20 criminal charges, including sexually assaulting a minor, armed assault, uttering threats and forcible confinement between 2004 and 2007. In my eyes, it’s fucking amazing that this guy is even allowed out on bail.
What really pisses me off, however, is the fact that the public is standing up for Mr. Lafleur as well as cursing the Montreal Police Service for issuing the warrant in the first place. That’s just sick to me. I understand that this man is a hero on the ice. But, let’s not forget that justice must be served regardless of your social status. Scoring 1353 points during an astounding career in the NHL does not put somebody above the law.
